Thanks Einar and @twihtronics, I wouldn't have guessed to look at P0. The manual refers to GPIO registers, but now that I know where to look, it seems like I have what I need.

As twihtronics wrote, you should see it under Groups as P0.

the svd file defined GPIO Port 1 as P0. So you might already have it.

might not have to do anything. Have you looked at P0 is the group?

but you should be able to take your existing svd file and then copy the sections from the nrf52840 which start around the name P0 .. Port 1. Copy that until you reach the end of the pin register sections and things should be good. oh and change any addresses if need. the section which was include is at the bottom of the above linked svd. GPIO Port 1 and GPIO Port 2

seems like the same issue. I new svd was supplied.
