I tried programming the latest SDK(nRF5_SDK_15.3.0_59ac345) without modifying it.

So, my tablet was able to connect with the BLE module.

I have programmed according to the Taiyoyuden's Manual.

I think that it is caused by adding the header file of "custom_board.h".

Hi,

I suggest that you try programming another BLE example without modifying it and see if you are able to discover with the nrf connect app. The UART example should have worked.

I flashed an older version of SDK "nRF5_SDK_14.0.0_3bcc1f7" to the device.

SoftwareDevice: s132_nrf52_5.5.0

My tablet was able to find the device.

Does this mean that the new version of the example program does not work?

Yes, I use the "nRF Toolbox" and "nRF UART v2.0".

Neither of them could find the device.

I closed the debug mode, and I tried to find a device from my tablet.

It could not find the device.

If it can find the device, I will see "Nordic_UART" on it.

Hi,

This error is coming from the Softdevice. It can happen if you single step or halt the CPU after enabling the Softdevice since it has real-time requirements. Are you able to discover the device from your phone now?

The error information indicates that the IRAM1 base is set too low (softdevice returns "no mem" error). Try with the settings below.

I got the evaluation license (No limitation, 30days) and continued debugging.

I saw the "0x00000004" of error code.

This seems to be an error related to memory.

I will continue investigating to resolve this error code.

The program ends up in the SDKs error handler meaning that there was an error after reaching main(). You can use the error handler to determine where the error occurred.

1. Re-compile the project with the highlighted settings below for improved debugging experience

2. Step over the flash breakpoint

3. Read out the error code, line number and file name to find out where and why the error occurred. Common error codes are listed in nrf_error.h

I set a break point and ran the program as shown below.

But my program did not stop at a break point.

I stopped at a different point.

Does this mean that an error occurred before the program reached the main()?

Yes, thanks. The program reaches main(), which means that both app and Softdevice has been programmed correctly. Please try let the program run for a couple of seconds as well, then stop it and check if it ends up at the address shown in the screenshot below and not in the application's error handler.

How do you determine that it's not moving? If you are debugging the application in Keil, please pause debugging, then take a screenshot of the CPU registers and post it here.

Not related to the problem, but the free MDK-Lite edition is restricted to 32KB code size if I'm not mistaken, so there are several BLE examples that you will not be able to build. I would recommend Segger embedded studio if you are not considering to buy the full version of Keil (Segger embedded studio -getting started).
