Also, when the datasheet says it supports up to 2 Mb/s, is it still with BLE protocol (at 2Mb/s) or does BLE only work up to 1Mb/s?

Thanks.

RE: nRF51822 Maximum Throughput and Minimum BER/PER

Hi

Are you looking for throughput when using a BLE stack (SoftDevice), or when running proprietary 2.4GHz communication?

The S130 Bluetooth stack is limited to ~150kbps when sending or receiving notifications.

When running a proprietary protocol you could theoretically get much closer to the on air bitrate (up to 80% at least), but it requires more work on the software side, and requires Nordic devices on both sides of the link.

The 2Mbps mode in the nRF51822 will only work for proprietary protocols. Support for 2Mbps BLE mode was added in the nRF52 series.

Best regards
Torbjørn
