You can verify that very easily: when you plug it in, does it appear as an HID device in the Device Manager?

Ok I was able to to compile the USBD example and I believe this is making the dongle be seen as a USB HID, right? but now how to pair it? because the nrf connect doesn't allow me to pair unless the dongle is in DFU mode i guess right?

Do i need to combine both softdevice and USB HID generic hex files to implement it? Also is there a way to combine softdevice hex file with the program hex as in the ble_blinky example?

referring to both https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/tutorials/b/getting-started/posts/nrf52840-dongle-programming-tutorial

and https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/36946/examples-for-nrf52840-dongle threads, I see it was an issue applying both hex files in previews versions. is that solved now with version2.6.2?

Will this result in receiving the joystick signal and convert it to USB and no other implementation needed?

If you want the dongle to be seen as an HID by the PC, then you will have to implement USB HID on the dongle.
