&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;rsquo;t see any issues with the way you are doing things. As long as:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1)&amp;nbsp;UICR.NRFFW[0] is not&amp;nbsp;set&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2) 0x1000 is not empty (not 0xFFFFFFFF)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3) The value on address 0xFFC is 0xFFFFFFFF (Starting from MBR version &amp;nbsp;2.4.x / SDK 15.3, see &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/44233/changed-mbr-parameter-handling-in-sdk15-3-0"&gt;this post&lt;/a&gt;)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then the MBR will boot to 0x1000&lt;/p&gt;
