Hi Martin,

The sample asset_tracker uses "IMEI", to be more accurate, "nrf_IMEI" as the client ID to connect to AWS Nordic account.

We've made asset_tracker work with our own account in AWS. However we have to use the AWS created client ID rather than "nrf_IMEI" as the client ID, otherwise it will fail. Do you know how Nordic makes it work?

Hi Kai,

You can use the command +CGSN to request the product serial number identification.

With the command AT+CGSN you can read out the "International Mobile (station) Equipment Identity" (IMEI).

Which is a unique code consisting of 14 digits and a check digit for identifying 3GPP-based mobile devices.

The IMEI number is composed of Type Allocation Code (TAC) (8 digits), Serial Number (SNR) (6 digits), and Check Digit (CD) (1 digit).

Every nrf9160 SIP has this unique ID from the factory.
