To summarize:

If you wish to use the old Power Profiler Kit Software, which is not maintained anymore, there are the following requirements:

1. Python 2.7.12 (32 bit)

2. pyside version 1.2.4 (pip install pyside)

3. pyqtgraph version 0.10.0

4. numpy version 1.11.3

5. pynrfjprog version 9.1.0 (pip install https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/44/60/26a2c5322670434d76a35456ed6d505bc7da58d2ce85fcc293ff34de1e17/pynrfjprog-9.1.0.zip#sha256=a24fdac8264760bc8506ee04d864985c46870ef4500e051c443f53f4aaa3f9e0 )

No other combinations of Python version or packet versions are supported. If you don't have these requirements then the python scripts might not work.

We recommend that the Power Profiler Application found in nRF Connect for Desktop is used instead of this old version, it will in the future also have a logging options. You should only use this version if you require logging to a text format, and that yet has to be released for the Application in nRF Connect for Desktop.

I see the pictures now.

I think that the issue is that since this program is so old, it is not thoroughly tested with different versions of Python or the packets it uses.

Could you downgrade python to Python 2.7.12 (32 bit), and install pyside version 1.2.4 (pip install pyside), pyqtgraph version 0.10.0, numpy version 1.11.3, and pynrfjprog version 9.1.0 (pip install https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/44/60/26a2c5322670434d76a35456ed6d505bc7da58d2ce85fcc293ff34de1e17/pynrfjprog-9.1.0.zip#sha256=a24fdac8264760bc8506ee04d864985c46870ef4500e051c443f53f4aaa3f9e0 )

Sorry about that.

Here is the warning message: It says: "unsupported operand type(s) for %: 'NoneType' and 'str' "

Here is a photo of the program open but not updating any info. I'm not sure if this is related to the warning I'm getting.

Are you able to see the pictures now?

Unfortunately I have no ETA on when it will be available, but it is on the new feature list for the next release.

Hi Andreas

I've uninstalled my J-Link driver, I was using v6.44. Then I installed v6.14; I erased the ppk flash, re-flashed the ppk and then ran ppk.py. I get a different warning, but the program at least opens now.

The problem that I have now is that the program opens but no data is coming through. It's not plotting current or showing any current measurements. I've tried with the PPK switches on DK and also connecting my external device to the PPK, but neither is measuring anything. I know my connections are correct because I can measure the current in nRFConnect.

Any ideas on this? Do you perhaps know when logging will be available in nRFConnect?

Hi David.

It is old, so maybe the J-Link driver has to be downgraded. Which J-Link driver do you have?

Can you try to install J-Link V6.14? It is from February 23, 2017, and looking at the ppk.py file, that was last modifed July 7, 2017.

Then I ran flash_ppk.py and got the following response

Then I tried to run the program again and still getting the same error.

Any ideas?

Hi.

At the moment the Software you downloaded is the only Software that supports logging. Logging in the nRF Connect Power Profiler Application is on the new feature list.

Can you try to do a nrfjprog -e before you run flash_ppk.py ?
