As I suspected, I just needed a product key for nRF51822. Håkon Alseth was kind enough to add one for me, and now I can download the 6.1.0 SDK.

Hi,

I would like to use IAR IDE. I cannot find the 6.1.0 SDK to have IAR examples ? I've added the nRF1822 and my dev kit nRF51 as a product.

There are what looks like links to three items that say "SDK". One is the instructions to get the new 7 series SDK. One says "nRF51-SDK-zip nRF51 SDK Zip File" and one says "nRF518-SDK nRF51 SDK Installer". Both of the latter have red locks next to them. Clicking either name sends me to a protected downloads page. On that page, there are two links to the how to for downloading the 7 series SDK.

I'm guessing this may be because I have no product key for just nRF51822.

You need to create a my pages login on the main page, then login. After that click on "my products". Once there add the nRF51822 as a product and click on it when it is added to your product list. Once in the nRF51822 product page, click the downloads tab and there is a download for the 6.1.0 SDK.

This does not seem to be available anywhere on the main website. If it is, I cannot find it.

Thanks again, I completely understand why Nordic wouldn't want to delay the nRF51-DK and SDK 7.x.x rollout! I've created components/softdevice/s310 and populated it from the v2.0.0 s310 softdevice release, and have my IAR workspace going with SDK_7.0.1 and s310 v2.0.0. Nice to see that this new s310 is no longer read protected, the IAR debugger starts normally without a .mac file assist. Best Regards, Matt

Hi Matt. I asked a bit around the office, and the reason why it was not included is because they were waiting for the v2.0 of S310. It should be available with future versions of the SDK.

Thanks for the answer, I had the same question. It also appears that S310 support is not present in the v7 SDK, hopefully this will make it back into the next release for the newly available S310 v2.0.0.

Hi,

This is a glitch from our side. The IAR projects are not present in the newest SDK version 7. I have reported this internally, and it will hopefully be fixed soon.

You can find the IAR examples in the older SDK, version 6.1.0, which is downloadable from our main website. Send me a PM if you do not have access to it, and I'll help you out.
