The functions are defined in ble_gap.h &lt;a href="http://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF51_SDK/doc/7.0.1/s110/html/a00807.html#gac37d0158c7458cb4250f9bdfba593858"&gt;and information found here.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It basically enables you to filter who&amp;#39;s allowed to receive responses on scan_req and who&amp;#39;s allowed to connect.&lt;/p&gt;
