I'm running into the same issue with pca10031 dongle. Running on virtual box, flash programming with MCP turns on one more light on the dongle (which, I assume, means it worked. I don't see any BLE advertising though). How can I fix this?

The USB ports look good, can you also show the same screen shot for the serial ports in the virtual box. The MEFW also appears to have been correctly flashed, so I think the jlink is working ok.

I suspect that the messages from the serial port are not crossing over from the main OS to the guest OS on the virtual box.

Can you dig in a little more here, and let me know how it goes

Can you ensure that the nRFgo Studio is not running when the Master Control panel is running . Now we need to verify that the MEFW was correctly flashed to the dongle.Can you give me a screen shot of the nRFgo Studio with the MEFW flashed into the dongle. Click on the dongle when you do the screen shot.

I would also like a screen shot of the USB port being assigned to the Windows OS by virtual box and any options that come with it.

Ok, you seem to have the drivers. Additionally install the nRF51 tools if you have not done so from the download page. ( www.nordicsemi.com/.../nRF51822 )

Now verify that you have flashed the mefw to the USB dongle.

Ensure that only a single Segger Jlink is connected at the point of flashing.
Use Master Control panel to flash the MEFW firmware to the USB dongle Select the correct COM port, you need to select a COM port that looks like "COMxx - yyyyyy"

If you have successfully the flashed the MEFW, then the next step is to verify that your board does not need any modifications. See Master Control panel -> Help -> Open Help -> Supported Hardware

If you are still having trouble, get the log file from Master Control Panel -> File -> Log File and post it here

Looking at the screenshot it is clear that the master control panel cannot see the board with the correct firmware. Is the board really located at COM5 in the virtualbox ? Has it been flashed with the correct hex file ?

Ensure that you have made the USB port available to virtual box so that windows can see the USB port. Ensure that the device manager on windows recognizes the board and loads a COM port driver (CDC) for it and a jlink driver for it. Flash the firmware for master control panel to the board File -> Flash programming. Point the master control panel at the right COM port.

Let me know how it does.

yes, under a Windows 7 in VirtualBox on Mac OS X. Btw, I've tried with another PCA10000 (the one I have from the evaluation Kit) with the same result

true, sorry for the misunderstanding, I was programming the S110 SoftDevice, I've programmed the MEFW_nRF51822_0.10.0_firmware_1M, with the same result, but 2 leds ON in the dongle, green and blue

Your motherboard has nothing to do with the dongle. From the Untitled3.png it seems you have flash the S110 SoftDevice to the dongle and not the master emulator firmware?

Can you find it in nRFgo Studio? Can you try to erase it and flash the firmware again? Could you also take screenshots of the process? I haven't heard about this before.

I plug the nRF51822 DK SMA connector module into the nRFgo Starter Kit motherboard (nRF6310).
Connect a USB cable from the Motherboard to y computer (the Board ID es set to 1)
I plug the dongle PCA10000, v. 2.2.0 to my computer (1 green led is ON) (from an OS X application I made , I see the BLE advertising, ready to connect)
I start the Master Control Panel
I push Start Discovery

I've just updated to the version 3.7.1, restart MCP and/or replug the dongle several times but the problem remains

I have got this error a few times, it usually helps to restart MCP and/or replug the dongle. I also recommend you to update to the latest version of MCP (3.7.1).
