I've been using Nordic in the form of Laird modules and SmartBasic to get my application up & running. Now I want to migrate to using the nRF devices directly so am trying to get to grips with the whole ecosystem which is proving

RE: Starting with nRF52 DK and SeS - J-link firmware

OK good... my main concern was it may have been a clone so incompatible firmware could have bricked it.

Anyway, I downloaded the software & documentation pack from the link you gave, then was looking at the software and opened J-Flash and let it try an upgrade - which worked fine 🙂

Yes, it should be compatible. Have you downloaded the latest version of the Segger J-Link firmware? If not, I would download this from here.

Could you try downloading nrfjprog & programming via nrfjprog:

nrfjprog --program filename.hex --verify --sectorerase

Does that work?
