Can you check that your nrfx_spi and "regular" spi values in sdk_config.h are the same? There is a header file (apply_old_config.h) which might be causing trouble in migrated projects.

I've updata the project into sdk15.0,but there 're some trouble to read registers.Everything I read is 0xff including WHO_AM_I.When I read WHO_AM_I register via spi (not spim) from the address of 0x0f,after the code :

spi_xfer(p_instance->p_reg, p_cb, p_xfer_desc);

I can read something but worong value.

the same code in sdk12.3 can work ,but it get into trouble in sdk15.0.I tried but can't find reason.

Before diving into your code, I skimmed through some earlier cases here on DevZone to see if I could find someone having a similar issue. I found this case, which has a problem with resetting in debug mode, and solved it by writing to a register to explicitly restore the reset pin function. This issue is also in SDK v12, so I suspect there is a bug in that SDK somewhere.

Seeing as you are using an old SDK, I think the best way to solve this would be to migrate your project to a newer SDK (15.3 preferrably). Here are links to migration guides from 12 to 13, 13 to 14 and 14 to 15. Please check out the migration guide, as I believe that will solve more issues for you in the long run, rather than staying in SDK v.12.3.

There's quite a few file missing from your project, the main.c file amongst others. I won't be able to make it run when I am missing the most vital part of yhe project.

As for the ble_uart demo, you can find working SEGGER examples in newer SDK versions. Do you have to use 12.3 (which is pretty old), or could you move your project to a newer SDK version (15.3 is the most recent).

And when I trid to change the ble_uart demo from Keil to SES by follow your guide,I can also get this problem.It can work when I debuged but I can't scan the BLE after power off and on again.I'll share this for you also.(NRF5_SDK_12.3 and nrf52832DK)

Okay, just had to make sure. There is a lot of people missing a step or two in that process.

Now this error starts to seem strange. Can you check if you are overwriting these values somehow, by for example not including the common build configurations in your release/debug build?

If this isn't the issue, I think I'll have to have a look at your project, to see what is going on. If you don't want to share your project openly like this, please say so and I will set this case to Private. That way only Nordic engineers will be able to see the case, and it will be treated confidentially.

Yes,I have did what you mentioned before.

It shows the information before I edit Section Placement Macros :

FLASH_PH_START=0x0

FLASH_PH_SIZE=0x80000

RAM_PH_START=0x20000000

RAM_PH_SIZE=0x10000

FLASH_START=0x1f000

FLASH_SIZE=0x56000

RAM_START=0x20002c38

RAM_SIZE=0xd3c8

and I changed them to what SES suggested:

but it also show the same error as before:

so I don't have any idea for it.

Are you sure you have edited both RAM_START and RAM_SIZE. This is the reason for your error message, but it is easy to miss something when editing the RAM and/or FLASH configurations. Confirm that you did the following:

1. Open the project in SES.

2. Right click the Project folder and click Options...

3. Select Common configuration and click Linker, then double-click Section Placement Macros.

4. Now the Section Placement Macros window will open, and you can edit RAM_START and RAM_SIZE to the exact values the SoftDevice suggests.

5. Click OK and confirm that the values have changed in the Section Placement Macros before pressing OK to confirm the changes in your options.

You should be able to build your project now.

I have tried it but it didn't work ,and I think it's not the reason to cause this problem ,because I have tried other demos which also showed SDH:WARNING and them can work on nrf52832 after power off and on again .So are there other reasons to cause the problem ?

Please follow this tutorial and adjust RAM start and RAM size to the values the SoftDevice are requesting. This means that the SoftDevice requires more RAM space for your application to run, and you will have to make these adjustments to solve your problem.
