Hi Tim, I have not tried all combinations of nrfgo stuido, nrf tools and segger version. But tried few combinations and it works for me. I am sorry but i am not able to reproduce this error.

Well they did disable it and it still crashes, though it still injects DLLs so could still be the culprit.

-nodefinitionupdate had little effect, although it does seem to freeze instead of crash now, and it doesn't get as far as displaying the flash for the device (previously it did and then immediately crashed). However, I did previously have problems with MCP crashing and disabling the JLink Driver "fixed" it, as described in your second link. Unfortunately if I disable the JLink Driver then nRFGo Studio doesn't list the device at all, so it isn't really a fix for this case. Any other ideas? I'm starting to suspect it is because of Websense, which is an annoying security tool work have installed on every computer. Trying to convince IT to temporarily disable it so I can check.

I also suffer nRFgo Studio crashes, i use version 1.21.0.2. I think the problems started since using j-link driver version 5.x.x and above.

@Petter Myhre: I ended up ignoring this, but I've finally got annoyed enough with it crashing (still!) to try and fix it. Unfortunately version 1.16.1 seems to be no longer available. Do you have copies of these very old version?

Yes and yes. nRFgo studio still crashes after a --recover.

Do you have only J-Link 4.92 installed now? Are you able to access the chip through nrfjprog? Open cmd.exe and type nrfjprog.exe --recover

Yep that worked! But sadly nRFGo Studio crashes now as before.

I tried to uninstall everything I had (interestingly I had two versions of J-Link installed - 4.92 and 4.90d (or something like that)). However after reinstalling things nRFGo Studio says "JLinkARM.dll is not correctly installed." I presume this is an x86/64 issue as that DLL is in c:\Program Files (x86)\SEGGER, and I'm using the 64 bit version of nRFgo studio. I'll try again with the 32 bit version.

We haven't seen this issue before.

Please try to uninstall both the Segger drivers and the nRFgo Studio, then run the nRFgo Studio install.

Are you using Windows 7 64-bit with nRFgo Studio 64-bit?

I upgraded to 1.17.1 and now it actually crashes ("nRFGo Studio has stopped responding") rather than freezes.

I'm using 1.17.0.3211. I'll try the newer one but it doesn't mention fixing anything like this...

Are you using the latest 64-bit version of nRFgo Studio? 17.1.0?
