&lt;p&gt;Sorry about the late reply, but 1st of May is a public holiday here in Norway.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A) Any regular GPIO pin should be able to do this. Be aware that the NFC pins and GPIO pins located near the radio might not be suited for this.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;B) &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/12192/which-gpio-on-nrf52382-can-be-configured-as-timer"&gt;This post&lt;/a&gt; provides an easy way to configure this, be aware that it is rather dated, so some tweaks may be necessary. &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/34547/ppi-configuration-to-count-pulses/133136#133136"&gt;This post&lt;/a&gt; provides two examples that are a bit more complex on how to do this using timers or an RTC.&lt;/p&gt;
