&lt;p&gt;nRF51 series has a 2 Mbps mode (called 2Mbps NRF mode) that is not compatible with the 2Mbps BLE mode introduced in Bluetooth 5. You may use it as you like for non-BLE purposes, e.g. &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.sdk5.v12.3.0/examples_esb.html?cp=5_4_7_4_7_2"&gt;Enhanced Shockburst&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;nRF52 series supports both 2Mbps NRF mode and 2Mbps BLE mode, and thus has support for 2Mbps in the respective Softdevice versions.&lt;/p&gt;
