&lt;p&gt;Please be aware that the blinky example has nothing to do with Mesh, it&amp;#39;s a very small code to blink the LED. &lt;p&gt;If you want to update with light switch client, you would need to implement DFU feature on it. Please refer to the DFU example to find what you need to add. Basically you need nrf_mesh_dfu.c, nrf_mesh_dfu.h, adding mesh_evt_handler(), etc. Make sure you enable SERIAL DFU.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After you test to update the blinky firmware with the modified light switch you can think of updating light switch image, if you see error you may need to look into the fixes in this case:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;#39;t think you need to modify&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;flash_placement.xml&amp;nbsp;it was related to an old bug that should be solved now.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Please try testing without using any key. Just to simplify the testing.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Please make sure COM15 is the correct comport and in your code&amp;nbsp;NRF_MESH_SERIAL_ENABLE is set to 1.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Please print out RTT log from the DFU firmware , and check if&amp;nbsp;mesh_evt_handler() is called for any DFU event.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
