The closest that can fit your requirements I believe are DTM:

You will need to provide serial UART commands as specified in the Bluetooth core specifications to the nRF52840 to setup the mode you want to measure.

If you intend to run this on a nRF52840-DK (PCA10056) you should find precompiled hex files you can program in \examples\dtm\direct_test_mode\hex folder when download and unzip SDKv15.3

To program the hex file you can download nRF Command line tools, and for instance run 'nrfjprog --eraseall' and 'nrfjprog --program direct_test_mode_pca10056.hex' from command prompt.

You may also find this useful, since it show how to for instance interface DTM in production (however you want to do the same, even though in a less scale):
