Thats all absolute true

and dont get me wrong until now im very happy with mi choose for NORDIC

especially the community here is awesome.

BUT for me it was just not clear enough that it would be so hard to use the NRF 52810 as a central but thats just my opinion

Indeed.

And that'll be why there isn't an nRF10040e example for the ble_uart Central !

At least, start your Central development on the nRF52832; then you can get a real feel for its true resource requirements - and, thence, make an informed decision on whether it might be possible to "downsize" to an nRF52810.

As the old saying goes, "premature optimisation is a root of many evils" ...

Hi Florian

It isn't the case that the 52810 can't be a central, it is just limited due to its memory restrictions compared to the 52832 and 52840. This means you will need to make a rather simple central, so that the RAM/Flash required to run the application isn't more than what is available for the 52810.

It is not a problem for any of the nRF5x series to communicate over BLE. And I would much rather recommend using for example an nRF52832 for your central application, and rather be using the nRF52810 as peripherals.

I don't get your point there?

A Central is inherently a more complex function - so it is to be expected that a "simplified" chip is not going to be a great choice as a Central.

I'm not sure that's true - you'll have to check the Product Specification and the SoftDevice specification.

But, if it does now support Central, then it is still going to be limited by the limited resources of the chip.

Of course not!

The whole point of Bluetooth is that it is a standard which lets any & all compliant devices interwork.

But I don't think the topic of this thread - the error about FPU instructions - has anything to do with being a BT Central?

Jeah thats right but since one of the both got to be a central if i wont a connectivity between them it is not so clear that less complexe means no connectivity between two of the same kind?!...

But anyway. so we can close this feed with the result that the NRF 52810 is not able to execute any central tasks?

And is it a problem to connect a NRF52810 with an NRF52832 via BLE?

Andrew is right, the nRF52810 is not the greatest option for a central. What exactly would you like better/more accurately specified? It is stated exactly what "Hardware compatibility" means, and the nRF52810 product page is stating that "It is an ideal candidate for less complex applications and also as a Bluetooth 5 connectivity processor in larger applications." as well as more in depth specs in the PS.

IIRC, at the time I was using the nRF52810 there was no Central support for it - so I haven't tried it.

jeah the peripherial worked already so this one is okay. But i have some problems in my project if the centrals doesn't work on the NRF52810. I think if this is the final conclusion it should be descripted more accurate and obviously...

Ah, sorry - I was looking at the Peripheral example:

But I would suggest that you take that as an example to see exactly what is required to turn a PCA10040 example into a PCA10040e example.

And, again, note that the nRF52810 is a cut-down part intended for simple applications - so possibly not a great choice for a Central ... ?

That's not telling you about files - that's referring to the size of the linked image.

The nRF52810 is, specifically, a reduced-memory part - for simple applications. So it is to be expected that not all applications will fit into it.

I tried it with an other project and there i gett the error, that some files are too big to fit in the flash...

Good question with frustrating answer.

in every function. I commented them piece by piece out.

it cant eaven do simple things like this.

although im not sure if the compiler leaves this one existing.

Still got the error Output/ble_app_uart_c_pca10040_s132 Release/Obj/nrfx_uarte.o: In function `UARTE0_UART0_IRQHandler':

i comment the function out (picture) tested it on the hardware.

If i comment it out its compiling. and i can start the debugging.

But it still doesn't work it stucks in every init Function i get in...

i tried the changes:

Change FLOAT_ABI_HARD to FLOAT_ABI_SOFT
Change __HEAP_SIZE=8192 to 2048
Change __STACK_SIZE=8192 to 2048

and since im using SEGGER Embedded i also changed the ARM FP ABI TYPE to Soft.
But i think i get the same error as in:

so i removed the second definition.
Then it compiled but didn't work...

its not cumming through the INIT Functions

i tried it with and without the DEVELOP_IN_NRF52832 FLAG

additionally I dont know which FILE Hâkon talks about here
