Hello Simon,

thanks for your help.

In the meantime i set up a Linux-System (Ubuntu) and installed the toolchain for it. When building the same sample (/sample/net/sockets/echo_server) with Ninja in the the terminal I get an similar error:

(other samples like the hello_world work with no errors)

So I think it has nothing todo with my installation since the error occures on windows and Ubuntu. Nevertheless I try out powershell later and will report.

The issue seems to be related to the command ".\bootstrap", and more specifically ".\". I did some testing and this command is not supported in the standard cmd. Try using Powershell, where it is supported.
