I see under the hood it uses the FDS module to handle Flash Write/Reads. If I wanted to implement some Flash storage in my application code using FStorage or FDS, within a freeRTOS architecture

RE: Is the Peer Manager's use of FDS Threadsafe?

Dear Hung,

we are experiencing the same issue. we use SDK 17.0.2, BLE and FreeRTOS.

We started writing a library based on the "flash_fds" example but if we also use the peer manager there issue with the fds_evt_handler (). It's crappy.

Where do you suggest to insert the semaphores in the code?

RE: Is the Peer Manager's use of FDS Threadsafe?

Thanks Hung

RE: Is the Peer Manager's use of FDS Threadsafe?

Hi,

FDS has not been tested with FreeRTOS and it's not threadsafe. There is actually a define FDS_THREADS to active the critical section inside FDS to avoid the process being interrupted but it's not tested in FreeRTOS.

Our suggestion is to use both FDS_THREADS and your own semaphore to limit to one transaction at a time.
