Hi, you will need a custom app if you are going to use the phone as a gateway to the cloud anyway. There is no native support for this in iOS. That said, the peripheral should get displayed in Bluetooth settings if you include "BLE appearance" in the advertisement packet.

hi, thanks. we are a little concerned about not seeing it under Bluetooth settings, because we are planning to use a bluetooth gateway later instead of the "nRF Cloud Gateway" app on the phone, so we are unsure in that case whether the real gateway can 'see' the node.

Hi,

You can use the nRF connect app on iOS, it will display all BLE devices unlike Bluetooth settings.

hi, it's nRF52 DK. Yes, we have programmed the kits with the suitable firmware according to the manual. We use the mobile app "nRF Cloud Gateway" and it is possible to see it inside the app, but when we try to find the device under the "Bluetooth" setting of the iPhone (i.e., not inside the app), it is not found. We have used putty and the kit is advertising.

Which kits, exactly?

Have you programmed the kits with suitable firmware, and the required SoftDevice?

Have you used nRF Connect, or any other BLE scanner app, to check that your kits are advertising?
