I updated the project to compile with the current EHAL which is with SDK15.3. It's been a few years I haven't used it. Haven't retest it yet. Let me know if it works.

The EHAL does use the SDK. It is a wrapper over the SDK to make it easy to use and immune to SDK version changes. Only low level drivers such as SPI, UART, I2C, ..., are EHAL implementations. Which are much more performance than the nrfx drivers. We used that library intensively in all projects. We also were skeptical at first about the Object Oriented aspect. One member of our team took the change to write his own UART driver in 100% C only to compare. He was never able to match the performance of EHAL. Even nrfx UART driver is 20% slower. He was convinced then and loved it since. Not only performance but it also saved us over six months of work. Thanks Nguyen Hoan Hoang for this.

The whole point of that code is that is that it does not use the Nordic SDK at all!

It is an alternative - to use instead of the Nordic SDK - particularly if you want to use C++.

Did you not write the code yourself? Most of it seems to be non-Nordic code, and not using SDK functions directly in the code. Note that SDK modules can be used inside sub-modules, but you have not posted any code of these, so this is not something we can answer.
