Is the nRF91 still connected to the broker after the eDRX period, or have the connection been lost?

Also, what quality of service level is the message sent with?

I really appreciate your help! I still have an issue related to keepalive. Do you have any adive?

- a broker(mosquitto)
- nRF9160 DK
- mqtt client A

This works out

1. nRF9160 DK subscribes "test/topic" and eDRX starts
2. Wait for less than 5 minutes
3. Client A sends a message on "test/topic" to a broker(checked broker's log)
4. nRF9160 DK receives a message after a while.

However, this does not work.

1. nRF9160 DK subscribes "test/topic" and eDRX starts
2. Wait for more than 5 minutes
3. Client A sends a message on "test/topic" to a broker(checked broker's log)
4. nRF9160 DK does not receive a message forever

signal strength is fine.

AT+CESQ
+CESQ: 99,99,255,255,255,33
OK

RSRP = -140 + 33 = -107 dBm

I set mqtt keepalive 900 sec.

3GPP TS 24.008 has several versions and some values vary depending on versions. Nordic should specify which version users should read. That's so confusing.

This would be the latest version now.

From the 3GPP spec:

The eDRX interval is 102,4 seconds

The Paging Time Window in your case is 1.28 seconds.

I really want edrx example project or tutorial.

And one more question. For example, if you set 327 sec in edrx interval, does it operate in the interval right after edrx starts? Or the device takes some steps and finally reaches to 327sec like 30, 60, ..., 327? I want to know the specification of nRF9160 eDRX.

Hi Yusuke,

It is the network that decides if you can get the requested eDRX value that you want.

Please, double check the provided network eDRX value is the same as you have requested.
That can be done with the AT-Command +CEDRXRDP.

You can also take a look at this tutorial. (it is about the PSM mode, but it may help you out)

I updated the firmware, but it doesn't work out yet.

KeepAlive function works fine after the firmware were updated. However, eDRX function doesn't work correctly. Even I set 327 sec interval, it receives a message around 30 ~ 60 sec after it was sent.
