I just looked through the register states and I found that UART0 was getting the pin registers set the same as UART1 due to a mistake I'd made - it looks like somehow that was causing the behaviour I was seeing as it's working fine after fixing that.

Yes, that's correct. It calls the exact same uart_starttx code each time, and that all works great for UART0, but UART1 behaves differently for some reason.

I don't have the register states handy but I'll try and post them up over the next few days - thanks!

Have you tested starting subsequent transfers from other parts of the code? I would recommend that you always check the error codes from nrf_drv_uart calls.

Can you provide the state of the registers in UARTE1 peripheral when this issue occurs?

`uart_starttx` doesn't return anything, but it does call `nrf_drv_uart_tx`. In the code that's posted I don't check the error, but before posting I did modify my version slightly to check it, and as I mentioned in my post there were never any error codes returned.

Or did you mean something else?

I can't see that you actually check if the function uart_starttx() returns an error?
