In the console, I found the following:

I updated GLIBC using the following instructions and it seems to have fixed the problem, thanks for the support!

can you please press ctrl+shift+i while you have the issue, this should bring up the Development Tools. Let me know if you are able to get any more information through this.

Clarification, the nrf connect v2.7.0 main window opens, but when the attempting to "Launch App" for any of the downloaded apps (Bluetooth Low Energy, Getting Started Assistant, Programmer) they all exhibit the spinning/locked behavior.

Is there a verbose mode or flag when running the connect app to gather more information?
