We are using the latest modem firmware. Unfortunately we do not have log output from the 9160. However we do know that there will have been multiple disconnects and reconnects before finally failing.

I have no idea if I'm correct in suggesting a scenario whereby the code may not be releasing sockets properly?

Are you using the latest modem fw ?

Do you have any log output from the nRF9160 when this happens ?

Oh in addition the status LED on the DK remains on indicating that it is connected, but certainly isn't, as already mentioned.
