Sorry for the late reply, but due to the summer vacation, we've been understaffed here at support, and I've only just now been able to get to this case.

Have you been able to make any progress on your own? I have some concerns with your description of this design. You posted "we just took out swdio ,swdclk,vcc and gnd from the ic on the pcb so that we can use swdio and swdclk for programming". Does this mean that you've not connected the chip to anything but these pins? You have to, at the very least, connect the decoupling capacitors and the external HF clock according to the reference layout posted by Øyvind in order to make the chip run properly.

I'd prefer that you uploaded either your PCB layout or the schematics (or both) of the nRF52810 target chip you're describing.

Also if you can guide what is the required wiring it will be really helpful as I will stricty follow your guidelines and it will be easier to troubleshoot and figure out the exact problem.

I'm sorry, but without knowing your connections I am not able to help you. The issue sounds to be a missing connection between the JLink and the board you want to flash. Please verify that all wires are working and that they are connected correctly.

I can assure you target is powered as I directly measured at the pins of the target mcirocontroller.Green board is the custom target nrf board and red board is a sparkfun nrf52840 pro mini giving vcc and gnd to the target and all the grounds are common.

Moreover, I also took out swdio and swdclk pins from the sparkfun board and connected it to the jlink but still vref was 0 v in j link commander and I made proper connections.

This indicates that the device you want to flash is not powered. Have you ensured that you have connected correctly? Remember, the JLink 20 Pin connector does not power your device, it only sets the correct voltage reference internally. Can you please provide a line drawing of how the green and the red board is connected to each other and the JLink? Please indicate on the image what the green board is and what the red board is? Is the green board a custom board made by you?

We also tried on laird bl651 having nrf52810 but atleast any of the devices we tried should have been recognized by the j link.When i open the j link commander it shows vref =0v although i have connected vcc of the target to the vref of the 20 pin jtag connector of j link and i also checked using multimeter the voltage between vref and gnd it was 3.2-3.3 volts

Just to be clear: The BL652 has an nRF52832 and the BMD300 has an nRF52832. Are you certain you that you are trying to flash the correct device?

Are you sure that your board is powered? Have you measured on the device? How have you connected the three (your board, JLink, and different board) together?

I powered it from a different board which is powered by a 3.7v 350 mah battery. Do you think it is a supply problem or ic layout problem?The picture is not clear though.

We have not followed the reference layout given above ; we just took out swdio ,swdclk,vcc and gnd from the ic on the pcb so that we can use swdio and swdclk for programming by making the connections as shown above to the 20 pin jtag j link.Will it work ?

Yes i supplied power 3.3v to the target ic separetely and made the grounds common too.I also connected 3.3v to the vref of the j link jtag. that is pin no.1.

The J-Link doesn't provide power to the target.
