Thank you for all your response. I found out that the U4 on the evaluation board had failed for some reason so SEGGER couldnt really connect to the nRF. I have now by passed it and now feed the SWDIO & SWCLK out to my custom board, that works.

Thank you for your help. I will give it a try. The nRF chip on the Eval is alive and well as it is running the last successfully flashed software (ble proximity) so that works but it cannot be flashed again as it is not seen by the host.

Then only thing I could think of is to update with latest JLink driver & firmware. Current is 4.95 I think. In the new nRFGo, there is a recovery button if I remember. You can try that too. The nRF may have a bad firmware that disable jtag. The recovery button allows to recover from that.
If all fails, your nRF chip may be dead.

Yes I have checked and it is on. I am trying to find a page where it has a step by step settings of SEGGER setup for the Eval board. I have tried following the user guide but I dont get anywhere, just wondering if I have missed something.

I have tried nRFStudio and although it sees the SEGGER and its serial it does not connect to it either.

Have you checked the J-Link OB switch on the Eval board ? It has to be set to IN position for the JLink to connect to the nRF chip.
