I want to use a long range and buttonless bootloader in nrf52811. S140 cannot be used for this task, because S140 use more then 150KB of flash.
Is it planned to release a smaller Softdevice instead of the current S140 with support long range

RE: nrf52811 long range

Hi.

Thank you for the feedback. I understand your frustration, and I will forward this internally.

If you take a look at this previous ticket;
https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/53756/nrf52811-adding-s140-to-sdk-16-0-for-coded-phy-and-nus/
and the answer from one of our RSM's Jimmy Wong, he added a link his own github project where he is using the nRF52811 and the S140. That might be worth taking a look at.

For future releases and roadmap I'm afraid I still have to ask you to forward these questions to the Nordic RSM. I don't have the latest and updated information about roadmap/future releases.

Best regards,
Joakim

RE: nrf52811 long range

Hello!

I have a few months periodically ask our official Nordic Regional Sales Manager about the new SDK and SoftDevice for nRF52811, and get answer that in Nordic something trying to do, but it is unknown what and when.

How is it possible to release a chip in which to declare BLE 5.1 features that cannot be used!

This situation is extremely sad, because it is impossible to understand whether these controllers can be used for my purposes.

RE: nrf52811 long range

Hi.
