You will have to contact your ISP about that. If they are not able to provide IPv6 for you, then as a last resort you can try to sign up and create an IPv6 tunnel here: https://tunnelbroker.net/

There should be several tutorials available on the internet, a useful search phrase could be "how to set up ipv6 using tunnelbroker" - after a quick search I found this one: https://teamarin.net/2014/12/15/set-ipv6-home/ (see the paragraph under "Hurricane Electric") but there are probably more guides out there.

Hi Giang,

It looks like you don't have ipv6 connectivity from your ISP. The reason you can use ping6 64:ff9b::0808:0808 is because this is a NAT64 address (translation between ipv6 and ipv4 addresses) and can be use on ipv4 networks.

You can use https://test-ipv6.com/ in your home computer to test if you have ipv6 or not.

Hi, if you have a PC (or other device with a modern web browser) connected to the same network as the Raspberry Pi, you can try to open https://test-ipv6.com/ and see if all tests there pass - that way you'll at least know if your network has IPv6 access to the internet, and then go from there.

I checked. I can't ping to ping6 2001:4860:4860:8888 , ping6 ipv6.google.com but can ping6 64:ff9b::0808:0808 and ping4 ipv4.google.com.

Can you share me key work for resolve this problem ?

Hi Giang,

Can you try to ping ipv6 address directly, try this command:

ping6 2001:4860:4860::8888

If it fails, you don't have ipv6 in your border router. You should then contact your internet service provider company.

In raspi : I can ping 64:ff9b::0808:0808, I can't ping6 ipv6.google.com -> network is unreachable

In CLI Node : I can ping ipv6 local, can ping 64:ff9b::0808:0808, But can't dns resolve ipv4.google.com fdaa:bb:1::1 and can't dns resolve ipv6.google.com.

I have no knowledge of internet class.

So can you guide me step by step.

I really need it.

Hi Giang,

Are you sure you have ipv6 connectivity between your BR and internet? It could be that your internet service provider (IPS) does not support ipv6 with /62 or lower prefix addresses... This is a common problem, see this case here for more information.

You can also try test the following command from the BR:

ping6 ipv6.google.com
