Then my guess is that the OS update fixed whatever bug this was.

NOTE: We've also released the nRF SDK for Mesh v. 3.2 recently if that's of interest!

The app has not updated at least to my knowledge. However, there was an update to the android OS.

Inexplicably, my android app started working with all our devices last week. There was no change in code on our part (we were using the default SDK code). Honey, are you still experiencing this issue with the android app?

Just to confirm, you're not able to provision any light switch servers correct? It fails right from the start. I think I'm mixing up yours and Billys cases.

Anyway, could you find out where the 0x00000978 error comes from? You might need to use addr2line to find where the error is.

Hi Simonr,

I am using modified light switch server which scan for beacon message and send to the client. But provisioning purpose i am using default light switch server code from SDK and i think it does not require any control buttons or LED for that.

What are you using to control the other boards if you're not using buttons/BSP? Can you post a snippet of code showing how you've implemented this instead?

Hi Simonr,

I am using OnePlus 6T with Android version 9. It was working in nRF5 DK board. Problem i am facing in our custom board. Only difference with DK board is that it is not using any BSP LED or BUTTON. But i could manage configuration by following steps pop up after initial fails and it is working fine. I don,t think it is a connection problem because code hangs for each fails.

No, you're right Billy, we can probably keep this to one post. I tried reproducing this error just now, with the same mesh SDK, nRF mesh app (on a Nokia 8.1 running Android 9) and did not encounter any issues when provisioning multiple boards (both clients and servers). What phones, Android versions, and nRF DKs are you experiencing this behavior on? I've tested with both nRF52832 and nRF52840DKs.

I am having a similar issue. I have loaded the unmodified light switch client on to two different of the NRF 52 DK boards. I am only able to provision one of the boards the other one fails. I am using v3.1.0 of the mesh SDK and v1.2.1 of the nRF mesh app downloaded from the google play store. My Process is laid out below:

However, I have a colleague that has an iPhone which is v1.0.4 build number 12. He is able to provision the same three NRF 52 boards with no issue.

The connection fails mostly during a failure connection parameter update. This just means that the initial configuration failed because it couldn't connect, however the user can reconnect and do this. It's just automated for the user to make it easy. Seems like it only happens to some of your boards, maybe you can upload some logs to why it happens to these boards

I am using Mesh SDK V3.1.0. I didn't do any modification to the example. Even though it fails, method shown in pop up message works fine. But why initial configuration fails?. I am using custom boards and some of the boards only showing the problem.

Hi,

Which Mesh SDK are you using? Have you done any modifications to the example? Have you tried doing what it says in the pop up(Connect to network, select the configure option of the node, etc)?
