I don't think this public period has anything to do with the client board. The status message is for the server when it wants to publish its status.

Periodically status publishing also not related to the secure network beacons. Please read the Bluetooth Mesh Spec, section 3.7.6.1.3

My objective is to identify which parameter can be modified to reduce or increase the number of advertising frames while I press the switch on the client board

I was looking what was the optional parameters available with the app. If I well understand, these parameters refer to a periodically status publishing as the secure network beacons ?

Could you elaborate more what you meant by "manage the lifetime of the advertisement and the number of steps while a led is set on an on/off state." ?

The publication period is only applied for periodically status publishing, not sure you need this ?

We do have issue with the publication parameter configuration. please have a look at this case.
