thanks, I downloaded it and am having a look. I'm going to get my copy of Javascript for Dummies, but please, allow me to show my ignorance once more..... what compiler tool is used to build this code into an executable ? I was under the impression that javascript executes in a web browser, but this is probably my limited beginner-knowledge as well.....

Yes. I've also read it alluded that I might be able to write app for nRFConnect, which would be very convenient. Thanks for your help.

What 52840 dongle commands are you referring to? Are you wondering how the dongle communicates with the PC app?

I've had a good play with the first 3 tutorials, will continue, but I'm wondering if there is any spec or listing of the nRF52840 dongle commands - I'd like to be able to script some testing using the dongle with the factory-installed firmware ... the goal is to duplicate the test set onto several Windows-based computers.

I was able to accomplish my current goal by using the "template" peripheral example. Thanks for the helpful replies. I'm on the learning curve :)

I would download nRF Connect for Desktop & then use the Programmer app. nRF Go Studio is old & the only reason it is being mentioned is that we need to update some of the blog posts. If you are using a 52 DK & the 52840 dongle, definitely use the Programmer app. You can also use Segger Embedded Studio or nrfjprog to program the DK.

There is also a app in nRF connect desktop called Programmer that might work. Have not used it myself.
