Hi,

You are right, the app was not flashing and it was using the old application

I've narrowed down the problem a bit.

Hello,

If you are thinking about the flash placement settings, that should be the same whether you have a bootloader or not.

Do you use the softdevice in your application?

So you don't see any logs. Are you sure that anything is running at all? Do you see any LEDs blinking or advertising when you have programmed both the application and the bootloader?

Yes, the project that I used is the pca10040_ble_debug. And to test the debug, I do flash the application. But I just realised, is it possible that I need to edit the .ld file for the application project?

Edit: When I reset the device and check the log, it doesn't seem to have any log of the bootloader in RTT viewer. Seems like the bootloader gets skipped

Hello,

Try to use the bootloader project called pca10040_ble_debug (it may be called something else, depending on your SDK version, but one of the project should be named the same *_debug), and then flash your application and the bootloader (don't upload the application via DFU).

Does that work?
