I have the EVK kit NRF52832 with PCA 10040.
I'm using the standard sdk example of central/ble_app_gatts in

RE: How to connect my central device to a peripheral running custom service?

Yes sure.
During the initialisation the handle was getting assigned to the uart specific handles, it has been radicated by assigning the ccd handle to the custom handle as per this peripheral.

What function does the error come from? Are you just using the regular ble_app_uart examples unmodified? What information do you want exactly? And do you want it in the advertising data, or would you like to send it when a connection has been made? In any case, we have examples for both, please look at some of our ble_peripheral examples to see if you can find what you're after. ble_gatts_c might be a good starting point.

Please make sure that you also use the same UUID BASE on both central and peripheral. I.E. the CUSTOM_SERVICE_UUID_BASE that's used in the peripheral must be the same UUID base as the one used by the central. I believe this is called LBS_UUID_BASE in the central example you're using.
