What we want to do is connect our (Nordic nRF9160) board as IoT client to the Azure IoT hub via connection string. Then we want to exchange data with the azure cloud via MQTT.
We know that Microsoft released an Azure IoT client SDK for mbed.
Are ther similar libraries or examples aviable for the nRF9160?
Any inforamtion and hints are welcome.
To my knowledge, there are no currently available examples on connecting the nrf9160 to Azure IoT Hub. What some of us have been doing is tweaking w/ the mqtt_simple program to try and establish a connection but I have had little luck with this. There is an SDK available for mbed as you have said and there is one available for C as well.
There was a blog post on connecting the nr9160 board to google cloud that you may find helpful

if you make any breakthroughs let me know, and I'll do likewise.
Thank you for your reply. This is what we suspected.
We know about the Google connection with the nRF9160 and we know about the Microsoft documentation. Thats why we asked for offical libraries. To do every thing ourselves is really pain in the ***.
Therefore we think to do the Azure connection reliable and proper, this should be done by official libraries from either the cloud provider (Microsoft) or the modem manufacturer (Nordic).
Hopefully ther will be soon an official solution that does the job.
