&lt;p&gt;I recommend using the &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Software-and-Tools/Development-Tools/nRF-Connect-for-desktop"&gt;nRFConnect for Desktop Programmer app&lt;/a&gt;. Here you can drag and drop both the SoftDevice .hex file and your custom application&amp;#39;s output .hex file into the file memory layout.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Please follow these steps (reads are not necessary, but nice if you want to confirm that the flash has been successful.&lt;/p&gt;

Add the SoftDevice and your Output hex files. You&amp;#39;ll have to browse for them, but the paths should be similar to the screenshot.&lt;/p&gt;
