I am developing a pcb based on nrf51822. I am trying to copy the layout of the PCA10028 at first. But I will not use the coaxial connector for an external antenna. How does the elimination of this component affect the impedance adaptation?

Difficult to say yet, there seems to be quite a bit of traces to be routed all over the board but it should be possible to make it work quite well. Make sure you place down a lot of vias between top and bottom layer ground planes and see if you maybe are able to move stuff around a bit to maximize the area you can use as ground.

I have one last doubt. Do you think that in my design I have enough space for a healthy ground plane? (This is going to be a 2 layer pcb) and I'm going to put 2 GND planes (Top and Bottom).

RE: PCB Antenna nrf51822

Hi,

Just fill the void after removing the coaxial connector with 50 ohm coplanar waveguide, i.e. have the wide trace starting at C6/L3 go all the way to C15 using the same width and gap. Similar to
