&lt;p&gt;Also, it is not configured as non-secure by default. Take a look at this answer for how to configure it as non-secure (the answer also configures the DPPI peripheral, and changes the output pins used in the ppi_trace sample. You can ignore those parts):&lt;/p&gt;
