Ok, thanks 😉 i ll wait about your response , sorry to insist but I already had this case in a company using monitoring equipment sending data on network for some telecom (mobile) operator on their own networ. we configured transmission in gprs mode and they wasn't happy that we switch from SMS data transfer to gprs data transfer because even if the end user was a mobile operator, it generated gprs extra data volume and extra cost between different operator.

they asked us to come back in sms mode to transmit our data from equipment site and remove gprs transmission.

There are no additional costs after a top up, this has been confirmed by iBasis. However, wheter the nRF91 can send packets to the APN when the top up data has been used up, I do not know, but I have asked iBasis to clarify.

iBasis did not elaborate on that as I only asked regarding additional costs. Have send a new question to iBasis.

When there is no data left on the SIM that comes with the DK you will get the -111 error code when attempting to connect to the nRF Cloud, if theres actual packets arriving at the APN or not, I do not know.

And what is the behaviour of the thingy 91 (sim card and network) connection, when all the purchased data is used up ? for example on site (forest for example) , if the system try to send data, please ?

The goal is that if the system cannot receive remote command and continue to send information to the apn, I think ibasis will not be happy to have connection try or packet received on the apn.

iBasis stated that there are no additional costs with using the iBasis SIM after a top up and all the purchased data is used up.

I have not topped off a SIM from iBasis, but when there is no data left on the SIM that comes with the DK you will get the -111 error code when attempting to connect to the nRF Cloud. As far as I know if you Top up your SIM with more data you should get the same behaviour once the top off amount has been used.

If you want to be absolutely sure, then I would contact iBasis support at support@iBASIS.net.

So can you confirm that if there is no more data, then the thingy will not be able to send data until I buy data.

What happen if the thingy continue to try to send data ?

- no data send.

- data send to the apn and you must pay with extra cost ? (Feeling as this in the ibasis condition)

Just to be to not explode cost during data send test ...😉😉😉
