I am able to debug and output to the J-link RTT Viewer(V6.44e) and when I stop debugging or sometimes randmley, the Viewer will display the message
"Warring: IAC character followed by invalid character(nonhexadecimal)"
and the Viewer freezes

RE: J-Link RTT Viewer Hangs

Hi,

JLink.exe, also known as J-Link Commander, should be part of the J-Link software and documentation package. You may have more than one folder in the SEGGER folder. Do you have a folder named JLink_V644e there as well?

Regards,
Terje

RE: J-Link RTT Viewer Hangs

there is no JLink.exe. would you happen to know the substitute?

For help with getting J-Link RTT Viewer to behave you may have more luck on the SEGGER forum.

As a workaround you can try using JLink.exe and JLinkRTTClient.exe on Windows, just as in this description for JLinkExe and JLinkRTTClient on GNU/Linux: How to use RTT Viewer (or similar) on GNU/Linux? Except for the program names being a bit different, it works the same way.

If the above exe files are not in PATH, you should find them in a SEGGER\JLink directory somewhere. Standard location seems to be C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGGER\JLink, but your mileage may vary.
