 So, following my nose.. On the Apps tab of application, did all the updates. Then:

&lt;p&gt;Yes. adding the udev rules solved the problem.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The dongle was seen by the App. and advised that a bootloader firmware was available, so I accepted the option. The Red LED flashed for a while and the Green LED came on.&amp;nbsp; There is now an &amp;quot;nRF5x&amp;quot; sub-window under the &amp;quot;Connection Map&amp;quot; Tap.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Don&amp;#39;t know what to do next, but I guess there is some documentation somewhere when I start looking?&lt;/p&gt;
