Hi Vidar,

I succeeded with DFU following the steps detailed in the link you sent me: I have been 'playing' with Eval-Board and 'Nordic_Blinky' application. Now, I have the Eval-Board already flashed with Bootloader, SoftDevice and Application, and I would like to update my application using DFU (Step E in the link you sent to me): how can I switch the board to DFU mode?

Hi Dani,

I agree with you that DFU is a must-have feature. And yes, there are quite a few steps needed to integrate everything. But I can't think of ways to significantly simplify this while keeping the existing security features and flexibility.

Hi Vidar,

I have started following these steps and, sincerely, I think that it is a very hard-working procedure. As a suggestion: I consider DFU-BLE as a 'must-have' functionality in a BLE device, and I think that its implementation should be easier, as there are a lot of steps to follow in order to have this functionality working. It seems a very rudimentary process so, are you planning to develop/raise another method to implement DFU-BLE?

I would recommend you to go through this blog post in order to get started with our DFU solution: https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/nordic-blog/b/blog/posts/getting-started-with-nordics-secure-dfu-bootloader. Also, maybe wait with the integration of the buttonless DFU support in your app until you have tested DFU with just the bootloader and Softdevice.
