Well, according to the datasheet the operating temperature range is -40 - +85ºC. So it is physically capable of handling those temperatures.

However, the frequency stability of can only be guaranteed in the temperature range of -20 to +70ºC.

So for the temperature range outside the defined range there could be some unwanted behavior. I think the 16Mhz could cause some abnormal behavior on the USB connection/debuggging capabilites of the DK.

Hi Joakim,

The Crystal part 7M-12.000MAAJ-T supports only -20 to +70, the last 'A' in the part number specifies -20 to +70ºC.

Looking at the BOM I haven't found any components that doesn't support the temperature range you require.
Could you please specify which components you found that doesn't support the temperature range?

Thanks. I have already checked BOM, many components supports wide temp range but few like crystals does not support.

That is true. I don't think the development kit or the dongle was developed to match the temperature range of the SoC.

We need to look through the BOM for the nRF52840 DK and Dongle in order to determine if there are any components that doesn't match the temperature range.
We don't have the resources available to do this until next week.

As a development kit, I would assume that it's intended for use in a normal "development" environment - so probably not at those temperature extremes.

But interested to hear Nordic's reply ...

I can't confirm that the temperature range is valid for all the components on the DK / Dongle.
I've forwarded your question to our team in charge of developing the development kits.

Please confirm this is applicable for all components on the Development kits also. We will be using the nRF52840-DK or USB dongle for evaluation purpose where temperature cane extend to -20 to +80 degrees.
