I see. Could you tell me the model number of the molex external antenna?

It might be the external antenna you are using, with a molex patch external antenna connected to a DK, on decent conditions I can get a lock in around ~103s on average on cold start.

I tested gps program on nRF9160 DK 0.8.5 with EXTERNAL antenna.

nRF9160 DK gps connector --- bias tee --- external antenna

1st test: fix time is 6:40
(push reset SW)
2nd test: fix time is 2:30
(push reset SW)
3rd test: fix time is 2:40

Even though I use an external antenna, fix time is so long. It's not 30 sec.

At the moment, sadly gps function is useless.

Please let me know when GPS function is updated.

Hello,

The nRF9160 DK and Thingy:91 are fairly new products and still have a few shortcomings that haven't been sorted out yet. The on-board antenna is one of them. In order to increase GPS antenna performance you should therefore use an external antenna instead.
