&lt;p&gt;Are you using nRFConnect for Desktop, or one of the mobile apps (for Android or iOS)? The desktop version uses an nRF5x device to scan, which again uses the &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.nordic.infocenter.nrf52832.ps.v1.1%2Fradio.html&amp;amp;cp=3_1_0_22_13_23&amp;amp;anchor=register.RSSISAMPLE"&gt;RSSISAMPLE &lt;/a&gt;to read the RSSI value of advertising devices in the range of 0 to -127 dBm, theoretically. However, the &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.nordic.infocenter.nrf52832.ps.v1.1%2Fradio.html&amp;amp;cp=3_1_0_22_14_8&amp;amp;anchor=unique_1701721635"&gt;stated accuracy&lt;/a&gt; of +-2dB in the radio is only valid in the range of -90 to -20 dBm, so -90 would be the minimum &amp;quot;valid&amp;quot; signal level in practice. You shouldn&amp;#39;t count signals lower than -90dBm on mobile devices either.&lt;/p&gt;
