as Susheel Nuguru said, the compatibility matrix should answer that - along with the SoftDevice Specification.

But, as already noted, anything with a Central role is not really "simple" !

what you exactly mean by "a single chip solution" and "connectivity chip with a dedicated application code"?

i want to have a simple application on nRF52811 rev.1 that sometimes Scans for other peripherals and sometimes advertises as a peripheral.

there is a very recent version of s140 that can be applicable on nRF52811 (as NordiSemi stated).

i wonder which feature of this new s140 is going to function on nRF52811. because there was a significant difference in functionality between previous qualified softdevices for nRF52811 (s112 & s113) and s140; eg. Central role, most of Bluetooth 5 features and etc.

If you are usig nRF52811 as a single chip solution using S112 or S113, then those softdevices does not have central capabilities.

If you want to use it as a connectivity chip with a dedicated application code, you can flash S140 into your nRF52811 and use central capabilities normally. Look at the compatibility matrix of what softdevices that can be used on this chip.

EDIT

The nRF52811 is quite recent - so maybe there isn't a certified SoftDevice for it yet which supports Central role?

There are many of its features still without software support.

(it took quite a while for Central to become available on the 52810)
