At what file and line do you get this error? It's a very generic Python error, so it might be unrelated to the issue already discussed in this thread.

Hi,

I just had the same problem with the pc-ble-driver-py library.

Where I get the folllowing error: TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not subscriptable.

I'm using python version 3.8.10 and pc-ble-driver-py 0.16.3.

Do you have any idee why this issue occurs and how can i fix it ?

Can you describe the peripheral server setup for the device that you try to perform service discovery on, when you see this issue? It would be helpful for reproducing the issue and for providing test coverage.

The error is self-explanatory. You are trying to subscript an object which you think is a list or dict, but actually is None. NoneType is the type of the None object which represents a lack of value, for example, a function that does not explicitly return a value will return None. 'NoneType' object is not subscriptable is the one thrown by python when you use the square bracket notation object[key] where an object doesn't define the __getitem__ method .

Hi,

While the pc-ble-driver-py README.md lists Python >= 3.7 under "Dependencies", under the Windows specific install steps it lists Python 3.7.3. Just to be sure, are you using Python 3.7.3 or later?

Looks like the value of response["status"] is None. I will report this to the developers. It looks like something that should have been handled by the pc-ble-driver-py library, yes.
