Yes, I am facing the same issue. Somehow, it works before on nRF52 DK board. When I switched to another board such as Redbearlab BLE Nano which doesn't have JLink, this error came up and yet stick around for my nRF52 DK board.

I am having the same issue. I have reinstalled keil and all the drivers but still same issue. Nordic should release a patch to fix this issue.

@srobinson -- have done that -- if you ht JLink Cmd button, you get Jlink.exe come up and tell you it's running V4.96d.

@Jerod Try searching your system for JLinkARM.dll. The J-Link installer may have missed some when it offers to update them during install. Either replace any instances with the latest version or delete them. Good luck.

For the record -- I am seeing this issue without resolution with my new nRF-DK. Using Win7 x64, uVision Lite 5.14, and Jlink v498v. Have reinstalled both uVision and Jlink with no avail.

This fixed my problem with Keil 4 not recognizing the nRF51 DK as well (64bit Windows 7). Copy and pasted .dll file and then it worked perfectly.

Hey guys...i have also been facing this problem. I am not able to program the dk from keil. The keil options for target does not show the jlink adapter. But i am able to burn the dk from nRf studio. Any ideas to make it work with keil?? I am using Keil ver 5.14..

Thanks very much for letting me know. As written earlier, I managed to fix it on my machine as well. I kind of manually wiped my computer on everything called JLink. Similar aproach, but good to know elegant way with exact file/folder!

I was having similar problems. I tried everything suggested here but nothing helped. I finally did find a solution though. My problem turned out to be caused by an old version of JLinkARM.dll that was being used by Keil from C:\Windows\SysWOW64 instead of C:\Keil_v5\ARM\Segger where I assumed it was pulling from. I manually updated it (copy/paste) to the one from the Keil directory and the board was recognized.

I have nRF51-DK PCA10028. This works for my personal macbook pro, not for my work macbook pro. I'll have to try again on my work laptop; I suspects the fix could be in step #10. My person Macbook Pro System environment: OSX 10.9 Parallels Desktop 10 with Win 7 professional. Keil 5.13 Segger J-Link v4.94j (C:\Keil_v5\ARM\Segger\JLink.exe)

I have jlink 4.96f and Keil 5.12 already installed on Windows 8.1 upgrade 32 bits. I just installed the 5.13. During install process Keil detected a newer jlink dll already installed and ask if I want to keep. I keep. After install, there are a bunch of Nordic packs that needed to be updated. I update all. Started Keil 5.13, select jlink and seeing, it detect everything fine. Downloaded sample app ok too. no problem There is definitely some thing wrong with your windows perhaps. Can you try on a different computer ?

I'm having the same problems and behavior as @Andreas. I tried downgrading uVision to 5.12 as suggested but nothing changed. I've also seen no difference in any version of J-Link I've tried (4.94j, 4.96b, 4.96f). Reinstalling nRFgo studio and uVision hasn't helped. Please let me knwo if anyone solves this. Thanks!

So it's visible in J-link commander it seems. Which SDK are you working on from us? Have you downloaded one recently? Do you see any difference in Segger activity from different projects from our nRF51 SDK? Are you able to use Keil with for example the pure BLE examples?

You may have a conflict some where. Make sure to uninstall all the old segger software and delete it's directory. Segger install doesn't cleanup.

Try installing Keil first. Then the latest jlink software. During the jlink installation process you will get a prompt to update DLL ... Select keil and update the DLL. Jlink will then update Keil driver with the new dll.

Thanks again. So far, I was not using Keil before. It has been installed together with the Nordic stuff.

In the meantime I also tried Segger 4.96d drivers, but still JLink is not detected by Keil.

Interestingly, when pressing JLink Cmd Button out of Keil, it will report correct driver 4.96d and it also detects the Nordic Cortex M0 chip on nrf51dk... See new picture above...

NEW EDIT: I've been trying to re-create the issue you are seeing. I've un-installed all my tools and re-installed to see if that would trigger it. No luck in creating the same issue. The only way I'm able to see the same "Cortex Jlink/Jtrace target driver setup" as you have posted above is to switch off my kit, but that doesn't make any sense.

You see the board in nRFgo studio and you see it in Jlink commander, so it seems to be an issue with Keil or Keil configurations. Initial thought would be to un-install the Keil version you have or use the "Maintenance Status and Previous Versions" section of this site to access an older version of Keil MDK. The latest drivers from Segger is version V4.96f, but it seems to be fine on my computer with 4.94 as well.

Do you see any difference in Segger activity from different projects from our nRF51 SDK? Are you able to use Keil with for example the pure BLE examples? I'm just trying to narrow down the components that could potentially be creating this on your side.

Just wanted to throw a heads up in there. We here at Nordic are working on it, but it's a difficult scenario to re-create as of right now. We have seen a couple of similar scenarios where nRFtools needed to be re-installed for it to work on Keil 5.13 and then re-booting the computer, but we have yet to confirm that this is the main issue here. It could be related to the MDK version from the SDK as well or the Segger drivers, Will report back as soon as possible.

I work with Keil 5.12 on Win 8.1. Works fine.
Do you have nRFGo open at the sea time ? Only one application can connect to the jlink at one time.

I am actually not sure how to download earlier version of Keil :( I'm still using Keil v5.12. The bug report we received from customers also related to Windows 8. I guess there must be some incompabilities here. Could you also post this on Keil forum / bug report system ?

I can try to install Keil 5.13 but I don't have a windows 8 machine here .
