It makes sense to me. But in my application I only send a message on a button press. This is triggered by an interrupt through GPIOTE, and I clear the event flag immediately. I find it hard to believe that somehow I was sending more than 2 messages per second for 100 days. I'll continue to look into it. But it is a tricky thing to reproduce.

Indeed, I have witnessed the same error myself. I am fairly certain that when the IV index is incremented, the net_state module doesn't bother to reset the sequence number back to 0.

Each time I attempt to send a message, m_net_state.seqnum has the same value as m_net_state.seqnum_max_available.

One would expect that once the maximum is reached, the sequence number would reset for the new index but that is not happening.

Can you try reproducing this on a DK? If your able to reproduce it on a DK, can you provide me with a step-by-step procedure on how to reproduce this?

i am using N52832 QFAAE0 1818DP custom board with one Button and one LED and SDK is nRF5_SDK_15.2.0_9412b96, nrf5SDKforMeshv310src which act as a low power node, that device is configured through nrf mesh app and added in mesh network, when we press the button it will send the BLE message after some days if we press the same button the device not working so when i try to debug i got this error NRF_ERROR_FORBIDDEN

Could you provide me with which SDK you are using and which device? Are you using a DK or a custom board? Can you also provide me with a step-by-step procedure on how to reproduce this?
